Knock 'em off - one by one!
When a friend of mine asked me to answer the following question on Quora, there was no way I could have let the opportunity slip out of my hands.
Since the answer has received a decent response which is tantamount to a healthy number of upvotes on Quora, I just thought of sharing it on my blog.
A. The first thing you need to bear in mind is that there is no universal bucket list that you have to be done with, each and every one of us is a different individual and hence the choice and execution may differ. But still since you took the pain and Quora credits to put forth this question, I will try and answer it and en-route try and figure out what I too might have done.
DISCLAIMER: I won't bear the consequences of the execution of the following points with you and neither can you legally sue me for I don't encourage such actions if you are a novice.
1. Let's start with the pretty modest ones, You should scrap an examination at least once in your 4 year stay at the premises. Doing it in 4th year is the easiest option but let me tell you, the sooner the better.
2. Reach the Top!! Don't take it literally the sentence has a figurative essence. Tanki happens to be the "Top of the World" place inside the campus. Go there, spend some nice, cozy moments. Take your pals along to ensure the warmth.
3. If you happen to stay in hostels which don't offer you wireless connections and the cost of a long LAN wire seems to take a big toll on you, try stealing one from the labs. Believe me, being able to carry it stealthily in front of the most fearing professors will do a world of good to your Viva taking confidence.
4. Getting into the girls' hostel is almost like getting in and then escaping from Alcatraz, setting this as one of your prime goals can be harmful and might show its effects on your other goals. So try and keep it simple, enter in one of the ladies washroom and freak out the inmates. Worth doing!!
5. Make sure that you borrow your friend's I-Card when he is off for training. The best use you can put it to is issue Mess coupons on your friend's name each and every single time for yourself, for your cluster, for your corridor and if you are generous enough for the entire hostel. The Manager is so gullible that he will never be able to spot the difference in faces as long as the roll number on the register and on the card matches. *True Story*
6. If you know how to use Paint in Windows, you might as well put your skills to use by declaring a week long vacation during any festival of your choice. Scan the DOAA and DOSA's signature in some far off shop, may be near the Pav Bhaaji wala - and make one of your own notice and put it across the campus camouflaging your activity on pretext of some fest publicity. It works!!
7. If too much of sunlight impedes your day time extended sleep in the hostel and buying curtains for your room seems beyond your budget. Then you can visit the E block in the evening with your friends-backpacks with you- and ensure that two of you smoothly push those curtains in your bags while the others take guard for you.
8. Get a fair idea on coding and IT in the first three years of your stay at the college, core companies visiting the campus is a myth. If you can't do that make some good friends in CS who will help you sail through at least the written.
9. Get a taste of all the Grades, give an E to D too. Attend Summer semester.
10. Most importantly, make friends for life. Indulge in a society, learn new things. develop your interests and hobbies, play a lot of sports, pull off all-nighters playing CS, DOTA. Bunk classes, make a girlfriend, have a lot of fun. Carry out an adventurous road trip, watch movies, read a lot of good stuff.
Remember the fact that life will never be the same again and this your last ticket to madness to have a go at it.
