Do I Belong Here ?
Less than a year ago, life felt extremely
different than it does right now. The fact that I had a placement offer months
before I finally bid adieu to college was something that was way too comforting
a factor for me. Add to that the construct that the organisation I was going to
join was a desire of many; I was finally going to make money.
Crawl up the
timeline to the present scenario and you would realize how rapidly things
change. Ask me right now and I’d give up anything to go back.
The above can very well be your
story too.
It’s interesting to note how quickly we
tend to shuffle our priorities; how swiftly we reorient our desires and goals,
what meant the world to us at one point soon converges to a minuscule speck of
dust.
This rapid adaptability is what helps us
come to terms with something called life, but the million dollar question is –
Is this really it ?
Adaptability
can well be a cover up for a wrong decision, when you realize that you've taken
a wrong route you force the destination on yourself. It’s nothing but
succumbing to the fact that you aren't good enough, you can’t shift the
paradigm so why not conform to the standards. I should be happy that I have a
job- that’s what my friend told me. . I know most of you reading this think
there is more to you than what your job requires from you, but still we all
will wake up in the morning and come back home after doing our mundane job.
And I believe that is the root cause of our
problems, satisfaction is what puts a full stop to our struggle. The moment you
quit, you lose. We all have an option, we can conform to the surroundings and
settle with what drops in our bucket or we can rise and fight for our share.
We will take some bizarre decisions en-route, we will get up on the wrong side of the bed but as long as the will to rightfully grab what’s ours is there we shall never fail.
It’s time we wake up the fighter within us
and strive for that better life, battle for what we want, question the status-quo and I hope at one point we will make it there.
