Reading my fellow blogger’s post the other day, I was worked up, the post got me thinking on parallel grounds, what’s our role in this huge and complex scheme of things, what’s the reason of our existence?? To put into more mighty words “raison d'être”

Being an engineering student and a Physics aficionado, I dwelled on this for a little longer, things like the Strings theory, The Big Bang all flashed through my mind, and science could only come up with this, “we humans and the earth we stand on, are made up of stardust; we are a direct product of E=mc2.”

But is that all? Or is there something missing, how does this simple equation defines and predicts our everyday life experiences, I am not questioning the authenticity or the utility of this equation, nor am I learned enough to even pose a question. (Surely I don’t want the same flak as CERN for a similar blasphemy) The thing that bothered me was to search and realize my function in this complex universal space.

My tiny intellect and cognizance could only help me arrive at this thought; we all are just miniscule pieces in the massive jigsaw of other’s life, and similarly others are those un-replicable* pieces in our life’s conundrum. The true picture of our sojourn on this planet cannot be painted on the life size canvas without them; these are the colors that emblazon our image. Think about it, and you’ll realize it all on your own. How many times have you felt lonely and deserted, and a friend comes to your rescue with the perfect hangout, you are strolling through a street contemplating on the ramifications of some incident, and there you see a happy family, sharing a light moment and whoosh!!! You’re devoid of all the tension that was gripping you since long. A text from a close friend at an ugly hour definitely eases up things for the next day’s exam. And the list goes on, there are umpteen incidents in our life helping us come to terms to the fact that our life is actually dependent on a lot of parameters, we definitely can’t identify them moving forward, we can only connect the dots looking backwards.

All our lives are entwined with those of the ones living around us, people keep switching places, priorities keep on shuffling, but there’s no point in time when you’re the sole perpetual source of your happiness, you need the people around you to make it incessant. There are definitely times in your life when your self-created happiness lasts a little longer, but don’t mistake these tiny flashes to be perennial, it doesn’t take long to forego a vantage position.

The gist of the entire thing and the aim of our existence is to achieve happiness and that my dear friend is not possible without those missing pieces, we have to make sure that we as tiny pieces fit into the lives of others and hope that on similar grounds they will fit into ours. Spreading and sharing happiness is analogous to an investment; we do it in anticipation of better returns, so next time when you see a sad unknown face even in the crowd make sure you greet him with a smile, it costs a little but could just be the secret ingredient for his recipe to felicity.

I’m not an author known for writing long blog posts, neither do I want to lose that reputation, it kind of makes living easy when you think of your future write ups. I don’t know whether I have been able to convey the message I originally thought of passing, but given the fact that I am an amateur in this field and do not belong to this philosophical genre, for sure gives me the benefit of the doubt. And to add to it, my mind returned Zilch as I tried to dwell deeper into the matter.

If you can identify the missing pieces of your jigsaw, and to what puzzle you belong to as a piece then the vital “life force” will always be with you .To quote what my friend told me the other day,” being happy does not mean that you are perfect, just shows that you’ve learned to look over the imperfections”

MAKE YOUR CHOICE!!

P.S. This is not the aftermath of a melodramatic SRK movie or the parting scenario in college, just goes to show you that a lonely 10 hour long ride back home can force you to go out of sorts and look like a fool in public  :P
