Cattle in Men's clothes.
So it’s that time of the year when mortals shift gears from
a hedonistic lifestyle to the life of an ascetic, nights are no longer spent
watching TV Series or playing CS but staring at that Text Book like the
“Watchful Protector “ watching over Gotham. (With the scarcity of the course
books in the hostel everybody has to do that, you definitely don’t want to lose
the extra 200 bucks coming your way on the last day of college from this valued
asset, Book market ZINDABAD !! ) People who are generally seen walking the
corridors during night with a phone in their hands are now spotted in washrooms
with the same equipment (take that for multitasking), you only realize that
when you overhear someone in the adjacent cubicle trying to camouflage his
voice with some brassy backdrop.
A new kind of species also comes into existence during these tough times, waking up the entire night and day, no showers for weeks and sporting frequent change in accessories ( read Photostat notes, hand written notes, text books and Tute sheets) , Darwin definitely got the evolution theory right, “adaptability is the key to survival”. This breed is also seen intimidating people by asking them previously asked questions in the exams and sharing some probable questions for the big day ahead which never really show up in the question paper.

But if you have a Mojo Jojo trying to destroy Townsville you
also have the heroic power puff girls to even up the things, over here too we
have a squad fighting the dark forces, which is constituted mainly of the
people whose real war is not fighting the “Syllabus demon” but winning the
battle in their attempt to get their hands on those deficient notes. And once
that is done, the next 6-7 hours are devoted to attaining pleasure; the panic
button is only pressed at the very last hour, the pursuit to search people who
can provide them the same amount of knowledge which these people have arguably
gained in a span of 5 months begins, and surprisingly these angels exist. In Thapar
parlance we call them the “RESCUE FORCE”.
What’s even more surprising is the fact that smile on the
faces of these people leaving the hall is even bigger than their Gurus, not coz they’ve had a
better exam (life is unfair, not cruel) but just coz the pretty girl sharing
the same exam room with them asked for an extra pen and then didn’t return it
(makes up for another opportunity to have a go at her)
All in all ESTs aren’t really the dreaded monsters we perceive
them to be, they are always followed by that extended vacation we’ve been
longing for the entire semester, so it’s not a bad idea if we shell out some
time to study, and this line reminds me that I have an exam tomorrow and I should
rather study than devoting my precious time on this “Jabberwocky” :P sorry
about the abrupt ending but hey I can afford that I have an exam tomorrow.
Will leave you with this Quote of Theodore Roosevelt, might
help u realizing the importance of quality education.
"A man who has never
gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university
education, he may steal the whole railroad."
So true!!
ReplyDeleteSince you're studying, you're someone's "Rescue Force", aren't you?
i still have to study!!! and a rescue force of this kind doesn't guarantee survival :P
